And how do you come up with your bag ideas?

It’s a question I’m often asked.

Every creation I make is the result of a skilful blend of artistic, cultural and personal influences. My sources of inspiration are many and varied, ranging from fashion trends to the specific needs of my customers and the observations I make on a daily basis.

My daughters play a key role in my creative process. They often present me with models they’ve spotted in magazines, but with a desire to add their own personal touch. Friends, on the other hand, ask me more about practical bags that combine style, tradition and functionality. Their feedback encourages me to design pieces that not only look good, but are also comfortable and easy to use every day.

Observing the bags worn by passers-by, analysing trends in shop windows, is a way for me to stay in touch with the zeitgeist while seeking ideas for my own creations.

Made-to-measure is another facet of my job that inspires me deeply. Reproducing a grandfather’s schoolbag, for example, allows me to blend tradition and modernity, preserving the essence of an object steeped in history while giving it a new lease of life. These personalised projects are often the most rewarding, because they combine creativity with respect for memories.

about me

I'm a leatherworker and a bookbinder, two professions based around leather. These crafts use ancestral methods and it's a source of pride and pleasure to be able to reproduce these gestures.
